Founded in Montreal in 1939, Abbey Neckwear (the original company) was a family owned business that brought four generations of expertise in cutting edge textiles and design. As a leading manufacturer and importer of mens accessories in North America, innovation and fabric technology has always been the core of our business.
At Limoncello Creations, we work with the finest design houses in Como, Italy to develop our own fabrics, styles and printing techniques. Driven by our passion for printing, we use multi-coloured and multi-dimensional techniques to create luxurious fashion products. Blending design with technology, we remain true to our authentic roots.
Abbey’s founder Eddie Abramowitz spent the 1930s representing Swiss and German fabric mills. With his unique expertise, he developed specialized neckwear fabrics with Canadian textile mills during the war and post-war eras.
Led next by his son Lorne Abramowitz, and then his grandson Joseph Abramowitz - who ran the company for over 30 years - Abbey had a long history of bringing quality products to the men’s fashion industry, working with global brands such as Christian Dior, Guy Laroche, and Perry Ellis, and then developing their own brand, Marchesi di Como.
Alain Croteau joined the company in 2018, spearheading our expansion into leather; bringing his extensive years in the luxury leather industry to produce Marchesi di Como belts and leather goods. Prior to joining our team, Alain worked as the Head Designer for the luxury brand Full & Holt and as VP and President of a leather shoe company. He has experience working for companies with broad distributions globally, specifically across Canada, Asia and the Dominican Republic. He has travelled the world sourcing the best supply of leather and components, and has sold products to retailers globally.
